Creating Meaning

A sign can be any physical form to which we give meaning, includes words, pictures, colours, clothes, etc.

Denotation: The literal or oblivious meaning of a word.
 
Gun: Death, Power, Gangs, Violence
Clown: Funny, Creepy, Massive nose
Thor: Hero, Marvel, Strong, Powerful, Warrior, Violent

LO: To analyse texts using the correct terminology

      







War because it says it in the title.
There is multiple heroes in the movie as it shows on the cover.
They all look serious.
theres a portal type thing in the background indicates that portals will be introduced throughout the movie.
The directors and actors are at the top of the cover of the movie.
There are connotations of fighting and being well protected because most of them are wearing armour therefore there will be up coming fights.

 Tuesday 4th October 2022 LO: To analyse a media text using Media Language. Medium long shot. They use the medium long shot so it shows what he is wearing and purposely chose this shot type to make clothing clearer. Such as the gun holster on his leg and the gun in his hands and all the details in his clothing. His gloves indicate he could potentially kill someone or do something illegal/bad and it involves using his hands and therefore could be trying to hide his tracks. He's holding his gun and that suggests he might shoot someone or use his gun for some sort of violence. Clothing: He is wearing a suit indicating he dresses quite formally in this movie. This furthermore indicates that he might be decently wealthy as well. Props: He is holding a gun. This means this type of movie could be a type of action movie and he might be using the gun maybe for shooting someone or something.
