Medium long shot.

They use the medium long shot so it shows what he is wearing and purposely chose this shot type to make clothing clearer. Such as the gun holster on his leg and the gun in his hands and all the details in his clothing.

His gloves indicate he could potentially kill someone or do something illegal/bad and it involves using his hands and therefore could be trying to hide his tracks.

He's holding his gun and that suggests he might shoot someone or use his gun for some sort of violence.

His facial expression is quite serious and looks like he could be doing something that involves something serious.

The background is gold that indicates he could be quite wealthy and could be quite higher up in the ranks and pretty well known/famous.

I can hear tyres screeching from when James bond drifts around to shoot people.

I can also hear gun shots because it shows there will be lots of action throughout the majority of the movie.

There are explosions throughout the movie to back up the fact there will be a lot of action throughout the movie also.

They use fade to black transitions to build suspence and also transition into the next scene.

The pace of the cuts also progressively and gets faster creates far more excitement and action.

In the tenet trailer they are using the music to add suspence and drama onto the scene displayed in the trailer to draw more attention to the viewers and because of how dramatic it is it might draw more viewers to watch the movie.

In the Dune trailer, camera work is used effectively to introduce the characters and also pays attention to detail on the characters shown and whats going on in the scene. For example, in the scene where there were to men hanging onto each other to save each other from the fire the director uses a close up shot to show how the character is feeling throughout the duration of the scene like for example, in the fire scene the facial expression of how the character is feeling is sadness.

In the horror movie trailer of 'Smile', different shot types are used throughout the trailer. This is too show all of the creepy smile on everyones face in the main characters eyes, we can see this in this scene:

They also use non-diegetic sounds throughout the trailer as well, a form of this is when a guy is screaming near the start of the trailer. This indicates that something scary or something that has scared the man has happened. It tells us this in the scene:

There is also a woman screaming after being dragged away by something or someone. It tells us this as she is dragged off of the camera frame screaming and clinging onto the wall almost to try and prevent her from being dragged away.

  1. Good first analysis Finn.
WWW: you've used the structure and media terminology
EBI: Say what the emotion is that is shown - why would this make an audience want to watch?
